Been doing a piss poor job of keeping this site updated since Chinese New Year. Less hiking than before. More short little trips around Taipei as I get ready to wrap up my time in Taiwan this summer. Less writing, more photography. Hoping I’m improving. Here are some of my favorite photos from the last two months. For more, follow me on Instagram.
YouBike: Dadaocheng to Shezi
Took a long ride from Dadaocheng Wharf (大稻埕碼頭) north along the river to Shezi. Found a nice park at the tip of the peninsula formed by the confluence of the Keelung and Danshui Rivers. The ride up was slow, with plenty of stops for phototaking, but we had to rush to beat the rain on the way back home. The length of the river park is pretty sparse where subjects are concerned, but i’m trying to develop my eye and make the mundane interesting.
ZhongZheng District – Morning
Another lazy weekend morning. Needed a walk and the river gets stale when it’s the place where you go running. Luckily, Ximen is a short walk from a ton of great parks, monuments, memorials, and government buildings in ZhongZheng district. I took the opportunity to practice some wildlife and nature photography.
Annual teacher’s tournament. Last year, we had to settle for third place. This year, we stormed through three games and took first. Yang, number 7, was our coach and most talented player. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get more pictures as I only sat out one set all weekend. Lots of fun trying to figure out how to get action shots though (SHUTTER PRIORITY, IDIOT).
